In form Old Wilsonians retained their position at the top of the table with a 106 run victory against Rodmersham. Pasan Weeraratne was again the star with the bat as finished on 119 not out, his second successive not out century. He and Suminda Balage Don (40 n.o) shared an unbeaten sixth wicket stand of 136, whilst Rakesh Joshi (24) and Jonathan Rodda (16) also batted well. For Rodmersham, Nazoomi Azhar bowled tidily to finish with figures of 3 for 48 from 15 overs.
In reply Rodmersham started at an electric rate, taking 17 from the first over, but when the wickets started to fall they did so at regular intervals. Opening bat Dave Cogger (31) strode manfully to hold the innings together, whilst Nick Denley (21), Kevin Jones (23) Sandeep Rodrigo (20) and Liam Foster (23) also threatened to make big scores. But the OW's stuck to their task and shared the wickets around, with Michael Mitchell finishing with 3 for 25, Suminda Balage Don, 2 for 54 and 'man of the match' Pasan Weeraratne, 2 for 6.
A delighted skipper Jay Yewale proclaimed: “Another comprehensive victory for Old Wilsonians. Pasan's back to back 100s helped us to post a huge total and we bowled and fielded well, as we have done all season.”
